A new era for St Leonards’ The Tav
St Leonards Tavern - or “The Tav” as it’s affectionately known - has entered a new phase of life, with a fresh new look and menu, marking the 126th year that the site has been continually licensed as a pub.
First christened as the St Leonards Hotel in 1899, the newly-renovated cosy corner pub gives warm and welcoming watering hole vibes, with comfy leather banquettes, comforting pub classics, screens celebrating sport, and taps at the ready to pour all your favourite draught beers.
The new interiors feature industrial pendant lighting, walnut timber paneling, antique mirrors, a striking black-and-white tartan carpet, and army green walls dotted with vintage beer ads and historic monochrome photographs of sporting moments and afternoon swills at pubs of old.
Coming out of the kitchen window to the left of the bar is a menu of moreish classics and comfort food, including steak sandwich, chicken schnitzel, brisket burger, loaded fries, fried buttermilk chicken, buffalo wings, and nachos con carne.
There’s also a raft of new weekly specials and great-value deals, including $19 lunches on Mondays and Tuesdays, $20 steaks on Tuesday nights, $20 curry night on Thursdays, and $8 schooners and $7 house wines for Happy Hour 4pm-6pm Monday-Friday. In the works and coming soon are Joker Jackpot on Wednesdays to win $2,500, and live music on Friday nights.
St Leonards Tavern is open every day, Monday to Wednesday 10am-3am, Thursday to Saturday 10am-4am and Sunday 10am-12am.
