First look: exclusive The Lion King suite at Kimpton Margot Sydney
With tribal patterned furnishings, devil’s ivy and earthy tones creating a cocooned sense of warmth, you’d be forgiven for not realising you’d stepped into Kimpton Margot Sydney, which has just launched its exclusive The Lion King Suite.
Styled by Australian design studio KOM Creative for the Sydney season of Disney’s THE LION KING, the bespoke singular suite at the five-star hotel leans into the colours, texture and theming of the much-loved musical.
A zebra print chair anchors the space, while tribal textiles, earthy ceramics and handcrafted details combine to create a sun-soaked ambience. Lush greenery peppers the room, with trailing devil’s ivy and sculptural plants set against the hotel’s original Art Deco features, while original costume sketches of characters such as Simba, Pumbaa, Timon and Scar provide an artful link to the production.
Spanning 61 square metres, the suite features a separate living and dining area, custom furnishings, a lavish ensuite with a deep soaking tub you can enjoy with La Gaia bath amenities, and a plush king-sized bed with premium eco bedding.
The suite is available to stay in from now until 30 November 2026, as part of The Lion King Suite package which also includes two A-Reserve tickets to The Lion King, two themed cocktails at The Wilmot Bar, pre-theatre dining for two at Luke’s Kitchen, a musical program and a leisurely 1pm check out priced from $749 per night.
Pre-theatre dining at Luke’s Kitchen, led by Australian chef Luke Mangan, offers a choice of two or three courses, with dishes including King(fish) sashimi with sesame and yuzu, “Be Prepared for Pasta” pumpkin ravioli with cavolo nero, Roquefort and honey, and the “Standing Ovation” warm chocolate tart with double cream.
Located just a short walk from the Capitol Theatre, the experience is designed to take guests seamlessly from suite to dinner to show, and back again.
